About Us

The International Kajukenbo Association

Our Mission

At the International Kajukenbo Association (IKA), Our Ohana or family, we empower our community through the mastery of Kajukenbo and other systems, styles, methods and expressions of martial arts, instilling the core values of Integrity, Knowledge, and Accountability.

Our commitment extends beyond martial arts.

We strive to foster Respect, Trustworthiness, and Loyalty, cultivating practitioners who excel not only in physical skills but also in character.”

Integrity is foundational. We uphold honesty, transparency, and ethical behavior, committing to do what is right in all circumstances.

We believe that Knowledge is power. Our association is devoted to the continual learning and teaching of Kajukenbo, ensuring that each member is well-equipped with both technique and the understanding of its applications.

Accountability guides our actions. We are all committed to owning our decisions and behaviors, ensuring reliability and consistency in fulfilling our obligations to ourselves and the community.

Supporting Values:

Respect- We treat each other with Respect, valuing each person’s unique contribution and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.

Trustworthiness- Trustworthiness is central to our relationships. We build strong, enduring bonds by being dependable, making promises we can keep, and always standing by our word.

Loyalty- Loyalty is our strength. We are devoted to the well-being of our members and the preservation of the values and traditions of Kajukenbo, ensuring a lasting legacy.

Strategy for Implementation: How do we accomplish our Mission?

Education and Training: Regularly scheduled classes and seminars will not only focus on martial arts techniques but also on the application of our core values in daily life.

Community Engagement: Initiatives and activities designed to promote and practice our values in the wider community, reinforcing the importance of our guiding principles.

Recognition and Rewards: Instituting a rewards system to acknowledge and celebrate individuals and groups within our association who exemplify these virtues.

Feedback System: Establishing a robust system for feedback and self-assessment, helping members to continually develop and align with – these core values.

By articulating these values clearly and demonstrating their importance through all organizational activities, the International Kajukenbo Association (IKA) sets a high standard for behavior and interaction both inside and outside the dojo.

This comprehensive approach ensures that IKA remains a beacon of Integrity, Knowledge, Accountability.

Alongside these, you can also emphasize the supplementary values of Respect, Trustworthiness, and Loyalty.
